Congratulations to Richard Lundquist, President of Continental Development Corporation, for receiving the first Ed! Award at the Ed! Gala Starry Night on May 18th, 2012.  We are truly honored to have such a strong leader as a part of ESEF and hope this small token of appreciation relays our endless gratitude towards his generosity and dedication.

Letter from Carol Pirsztuk, CEO of ESEF:

In 1989, Richard Lundquist and his company, Continental Development Corporation, joined the Board of Directors of the Foundation and began a tenure that has touched the lives of thousands of El Segundo’s children and families. Today we are honoring Richard to thank him for his dedication and support to the ESEF.

Believing strongly that the children are the future, Richard has volunteered his time, his acute business sense, his vision, and his financial support over the last twenty-three years to ensure that El Segundo’s public schools have had the means to provide a high standard of education. Richard was elected Chairman ten years ago and the Foundation has grown under his direction. His guidance has led the dedicated, and hardworking members of the Board in facing the challenges that the State of California has imposed on the schools and the community of El Segundo through its continued decreases in funding.

As we look toward the future, we hope that more people like Richard will come forward to support the vision of the Foundation making El Segundo a desirable place to live, work, and raise a family.
