The 2017 Fall Pledge Drive has come to a close. On behalf of our students, thank you for your dedication to fund our schools!
This drive was an important kick-off to this year’s fundraising efforts. The District has requested a $1.5 million grant for the 2017-2018 school year, no small feat for our community. Why the increase? The District wants to ensure they can keep offering the wide variety of educational programs and opportunities to all kids, each and every day. Without support from every family, many programs our students enjoy and benefit from everyday could be at risk of getting cut. These programs take a “basic” education for our kids and create a world class “21st Century” opportunity for each and every student.
As a District, 26% of our families contributed to the Fall Pledge Drive. Here is where we stand today by school participation:
Richmond Street School: 38%
Center Street School: 34%
El Segundo Middle School: 28%
El Segundo High School: 19%
(A special shout out to 2nd grade families at Richmond Street School, with 47% donation rate!)
In total, the pledge drive finished at 80% to goal. Our work is not yet completed. In order to meet our pledge to the District, we look forward to partnering with more families as 26% of our community cannot be the only ones supporting 100% of our children.
We look forward to Ladies Night Out, the Winter Pledge Drive, Guys Night Out, and the annual Ed! Gala yet to come. I invite you to stay up-to-date on the Foundation’s news and see how your donations impact students every day by visiting our website and liking us on Facebook.
Thank you –
